Planning Ahead
As the adage goes "failing to plan is planning to fail."
All matters that we take on are properly planned. A matter plan is provided from the start, setting out the steps that we will take as your lawyers and that you can take to contribute to getting the right outcome. This forms a road map for your matter and allows you to understand at any time exactly where your matter is at.
We also use matter plans, as we believe they reduce unnecessary correspondence, they set out the exact status of a matter concisely, giving you a clear understanding of the steps to be taken to achieve a client's goals.
Cost Certainty
The greatest challenge many clients face when engaging a lawyer is getting certainty regarding costs. As Walsh & Walsh Lawyers, we strive to provide cost certainty. Where the work required is clear and easily identified we can carry that work at a fixed cost.
Litigation can however be an inherently uncertain process, the steps to be taken often depending on the other party and the orders made by the court. We provide an estimate for each stage of the court process, and that estimate is calculated based on a reasonable hourly rate. When we give an estimate we also do all we can to stick to it, only revising that estimate when events occur that are outside our control.
We also make sure that you are kept up to date on all factors that can affect costs and only revise our estimates when you have been fully informed of the reasons for the new estimate.
Ethical
At Walsh & Walsh Lawyers, we carefully consider our ethical obligations in respect of each client, from the opening to the closing of each matter. We see this as the foundation of all legal services and also beneficial to the client.
Lawyers have clear duties and ethical obligations. Lawyers must act in the best interests of their clients and also in accordance with their paramount duty to the court and the administration of justice. We take those ethical duties very seriously, having regard to them in all that we do.
